How does re-registration work when buying a car?

When buying a used car, the vehicle must be re-registered to the new owner. This can be done digitally on the Norwegian Public Roads Administration website. The seller starts the process by reporting the sale, and the buyer confirms the purchase. The re-registration fee is paid by the buyer.
